AT THE STILL POINT I used Opal (pronounced o-pal) glass to create the lotus flower. This hand made glass is clear with a thin layer of milk white on it. This layered effect gives the glass a soft, flourescent glow as the light passes through it. The streams coming from the flower are dark blue flashed glass. The background glass is hand made full antique crackle. I combined both copper foil and lead to assemble this piece. The zinc outer border, leading and solder are finished with a dark/medium grey patina. The frame is oak.
